Donuts at home and REHEATING tips!

Believe it or not a lot of people don’t eat their donuts straight away. Instead, they choose to reheat them later on at home.

This is the case for many of our customers who live further away, and so we've created some reheating instructions to help you out.

There really is nothing like a fresh hot jam donut straight out of the fryer but they’re still very tasty when reheated and we have been doing it for decades!

But before we can talk about reheating, let’s talk about how to safely store your donuts after taking them home.

How to safely store your donuts:

We obviously want to avoid leaving them on the kitchen table for hours on end. Alternatively, the fridge is a great option to chill and keep them safe to reheat and eat for the next few days!

Although, the same as any food in the fridge, leave it there long enough and it’ll end up in the trash! So how do we make them last even longer??

The FREEZER! That’s right…frozen jam donuts!

I know right, how strange does it seem. But as I said before, we have been doing it for years and years! We love them and our loyal customers love them!

The freezer will keep your donuts safe to eat for a long, long, long time!

We recommend putting them individually into zip lock bags to keep them from sticking together or similar.

When it comes to reheating there is really only 3 options:

OPTION 1 - Air fryer

The air fryer is probably our favourite way to reheat. A little crunchy on the outside, piping hot on the inside and ready to enjoy within minutes!

If reheating from frozen we recommend letting them thaw out beforehand.

Adjust the settings on your air fryer accordingly and play around with what works best for you.

But keep an eye on them! It doesn’t take long.

OPTION 2 - Oven

The oven can be just as good! But it will take a little longer than the air fryer.

Once again the temperature will depend on your oven, whether it’s fan forced or not, or what settings it’s on.

To give you a rough idea we usually set it between 170-200 degrees celsius depending on how thawed out the donuts are.

OPTION 3 - Microwave

If you want them fast…here is your best option!

8-15 seconds and they’re done.

However, don’t be surprised if they feel a little soft and spongey. The microwave is good for that haha!

But they taste all the same!

***WARNING***

Whatever option you choose to reheat your donuts with, the jam will most likely be EXTREMELY HOT!!!

Be very careful you don’t burn your tongue or mouth.

If you have like to reheat your donuts using another method we would love to hear from you!
